Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials
Red Squirrel Events provides official corporate hospitality for the Badminton Horse Trials.
Generally regarded as the World's premier Three Day Event, The Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials 2010 takes place between Thursday 30th April and Sunday 3rd May.
Held every year since 1949 in the beautiful parkland of the Duke of Beaufort, the event attracts the majority of the leading horses and riders in the world. Spectators number over 150,000 while the tented village contains a breathtaking 275 trade stands with more than 550 individual exhibitors.
The first phase of the event, dressage, is split between the first 2 days, Friday and Saturday. Many watch a little dressage but also walk round the famous cross country course and shop furiously.
Sunday sees the spectacular cross country test - the horses tackle the 4 mile course of obstacles around the Park. Action is continuous, with a horse starting every 3-4 minutes.
Finally on Monday comes the climax - a normal set of show jumps but, after the cross country, clearing them is not easy. The result often depends on one rail down on Monday afternoon.
