Mersey Masters Football
This year's Masters Cup will be played during the Liverpool Summer Pops Festival on Sunday 4th July. It will be the first time the Festival includes live football along with its array of musical talent and will be shown live on Sky Sports.
The Masters Cup returns to Liverpool with 6 of the best teams in the region ready to battle it out for the Mersey Masters title and the chance to qualify for September's Grand Final.
Tranmere return once again as Mersey champions and are eager to continue the impressive form that saw them crowned 2009 Masters Champions. However, with the new six team format, they face stiff competition from a resurgent Liverpool side, strong Everton and Wigan teams, and the inclusion of Preston and Blackpool, both playing in their first ever Masters Cup.
Come and see teams packed full of stars, which in the past have included the likes of Ian Rush, Jason McAteer, Ronnie Rosenthal, Don Hutchison, Craig Short, Paul Gerrard, Peter Beagrie and Stuart Barlow in what promises to be a fantastic night of entertainment.
