Kempton stages over 50 flat and national hunt races throughout the year. Situated within the M25, the racecourse is little more than half an hour away from London Waterloo.
2006 was the inaugural year of floodlit racing at Kempton Park, the place to go horse racing in London.
There are two tracks. The new floodlit course has racing from March right through to December with a mixture of daytime and evening fixtures. The new improved Jump track has action from October and culminates with the famous Stan James Christmas Festival.
Highlight of the year is the King George VI Chase which takes place at the two day Christmas Festival. Run on Boxing Day, the race is one of the most eagerly anticipated in the national hunt calendar and has produced numerous great champions over the years, including four times winner Desert Orchid.
